Avast has been constantly scanning the above web page for three hours now, any ideas why and how I can stop it?

This If memory serves is for the webrep add-on, so it is going to be fairly active whilst you are browsing. So it isn't scanning that page for hours, it is seeking webrep information (urlinfo) from that link.
I have set the following exclusion in the web shield so that it doesn't scan that as I trust that location, if you accept the risk of making an exclusion this is what can be entered:
http://ui.ff.avast.com/*
Copy and paste (Add) the content of the above into the web shield exclusions, see image example.
Edit non-critical typo

Thanks will do

I want to remove this completely from being redirected to this URL: http://ui.ff.avast.com/urlinfo
I kind of like Avast, but If I cant disable this scan, I will have to uninstall it.
Even when I completely Disable Avast,
I add http://ui.ff.avast.com/urlinfo to the "exclusion List", the headers seem to be hard coded to follow http://ui.ff.avast.com/urlinfo
I am using Firefox, I did an about:config and reset ALL references to Avast.
Where can I get Rid of this http://ui.ff.avast.com/urlinfo
thanks and regards,
Gary

Read my 1st reply in this topic as to what it is doing and that it is related to the WebRep obtaining data on the site/s that you visit. So you can choose to visit a site or not.
Disabling avast would still leave the webrep plug-in/add-on in firefox and it is that which initiates this.
