AMS get killed by Android default task-maganer
« on: May 28, 2013, 05:01:42 AM »
Hello,

I'm using avast! Mobile Security on Android 4.0.4, and I have a problem.

[Symptom]
AMS get killed by tapping "Stop all" button on task-manager and never returned back

[AMS version]
Latest

[Phone model]
NTT Docomo L-01E (LG Electronics, Optimus G)
Japanese

[Confirmation]
1. Open default task-manager by long-pressing Home button.
2. Tap "Stop all" button.
3. After tapping "Stop all" button,
- AMS entry in Settings -> Application Management -> Running Services disappear
- AMS icon disappear
- PIN Uninstall Protection stops working

[Notes]
- Uninstall and reinstall AMS does not solve this problem.
- The phone does not have any 3rd party task-killer app.
- Maybe not related: A bit of log window is always on left side when I open AMS.

My child is using this phone and I want to restrict its usage, but avast is always killed.
How to prevent avast getting killed? Thanks.

Hi,

that is how Android is designed. You can kill every app using the "Stop all" button and it will be launched again only in special circumstances (user launching the app, important system event etc).
