libeay32.dll
« on: October 30, 2013, 10:01:46 PM »
I am using the free version and using Vista.
Ever since I installed Avast 2014.9.0.2006  on start up I get an error message saying: "The ordinal 3873 could not be located in libeay32.dll". So I got the file from openssl-0.9.8h-1-bin and placed it in the folder:
c:\windows\system32.  there wasn't a file with the dll name there before.

I am still getting the error message.

Can i "repair" the avast latest installation? and how would i go about doing that.

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Via add/remove click on avast and it will open up a screen and it will have options like uninstall, repair, and etc. Click on repair. Hope it will solve your problem.

Thanks.

It seems newer versions of Avast free fixed the problem.
