Title: what's a sandbox folder doing on a USB drive?

... just found, a "## aswSnx private storage" folder, containing a SafeZone folder, saved on one of my USB keys...no files inside and that's normal but why use a USK key at all? any comment? thanks.

I see it as well. In fact it is holding the drive and preventing me from removing it...

Vista 32bit avast! Free 6.0.1000

Possibly related to decisions on files executed from the drive? (the only things so far that have generated an alert)

yeah, this would have been the only good reason. But the thing is that I can tell for sure that the safezone browser is very unlikely to use any file located there (on that USB key).

ps: this said, as I've temporarily removed Avast today, I can already tell you that it's no problem to remove the folder after that. Another thing, unrelated here, after another uninstall (of the RC) yesterday, I couldn't remove one sandbox folder, on drive C:, immediately. Had to take ownership of it first. Wasn't necessary on the other drives.

Still can't remove a flash drive on this vista system without a reboot...not good.

Sorry to know that. I can remove my USB drivers (more than one, with more than one partition) without trouble.
Any other software could be interfering?

It is the sandbox...look at the image I posted, it is the autosandbox...

I did run a program that caused an alert, and subsequent sandboxing...maybe it is that...

Doesn't happen on my win 7 system...

I see... When anything was sandboxed (autosandboxed too), seems that the drive can't be ejected...

just want to insist on the fact that in my case, there was nothing auto-sandboxed on a USB drive, but a "safezone" folder was there. I re-installed Avast in the meantime, used the safezone, and so far nothing on that USB key (don't tell me that it's hidden - the "privatestorage" folder - , I know how to see it if I want to, no safe mode needed).

Forgot about that...but wouldn't self protection stop it from changing the folder?

I know what is holding the drive, the autosandbox.
