Try uploading the file to the FTP server: ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming.

Let us know if you get a response on you ftp upload

the Avast link you posted is NOT a scanner- it only deals with the known threats listed
good tool
several other AV vendors have them  they all deal with a different set of threats

I was able to send the file to the ftp link you provided, but got no warning messages.

Okay I sent my zip file to the ftp website link you posted.  The password is virus, and when avast put the extension .vir at the end of the file, I had changed it to .riv because I figured maybe yahoo would let me attach it.
