Sleep mode

I have Windows 7 and recently purchased Avast Security Suite 5. Now the the sleep and hibernate modes don't work properly. The screen goes black but the computer stays on. I have to power down the computer and do a complete startup.

Sleep and hibernate work with the free antivirus software. I wrote to Avast several days ago but have received no response.

Any suggestions besides trying to get my money back?

Well, I wish someone else could help troubleshooting this.
But I have no problem with Windows 7 and AIS to hibernate or sleep mode... And I'm using it since last year...
Any other security program that could interfere? Which was your old antivirus?

I have AIS and 7 yet have experienced no problems with sleep mode (never tried hibernate).  So it just goes to a black screen but does not power down - is that correct
