That's strange.  I checked Device Manager, and I don't have that filter, but my Firewall is working fine.

Exactly what kind of problem do you have?  Someone posted a solution to a Firewall problem that had something to do with an NDIS filter.  I'll see if I can find it.

Reply 25 refers you to a video, that has no sound and is not very clear.

ncpa.cpl is being typed in the search box.  This will bring up your Network Driver.  You will highlight it, and right click on it.  This will show you a list of drivers installed that are probably not shown in Device manager.

Help please!!! I am new to this and cannot even work out how to start a new topic on this page! I need help with my Lenovo laptop please. The Device Centre is saying the Avast NDIS Firewall Miniport is disabled and I am not able to enable it or update the driver. I am concerned I have a worm or something loading spam onto my new computer. When I go into the Device Manager and try to update the driver software my computer says "windows was unable to install avast Firewall NDIS Filter miniport on my computer". It refers me to the manufacturer who of course can't help because they do not support avast.
Can someone please help me in simple terms how to fix this?!? It is a brand new computer!!!
