Title: portable avast! in USB
Post by: zooldevil on April 19, 2006, 10:20:35 AM
hello, i wanna know what is ur opinion if avast could develop avast! portable(not the Avast! virus cleaner because it is limited to detect other virus)... as u know, there r many software can be installed into USB  drive such as portable firefox, openoffice, DSL(Damn Small Linux- portable OS that can boot from USB drive)... i hope that avast! can develop an antivirus that can be installed inside a USB drive

There is such a version of avast! - avast! for U3 USB drives (http://avast.com/eng/avast_u3_edition.html).

What I'd like to see is a version that runs on a USB 2 Device.

I'm not aware of any such plans, I'm afraid.

Regarding the Portuguese translation - the language of the program is controlled by the language of the U3 launcher. Unfortunatelly, the launcher doesn't support Portuguese right now, so there's no point in translating the program into Portuguese (because it couldn't be switched to Portuguese anyhow) :(

Well... you could keep me informed anyway.
And, what about the 'server' version? Is it the same as the ADNM one?
