If I wanted somebody to tell me what sites I can visit I would move to China.
What's going to happen is people are going to disable Avast so that they can visit TPB.  Then they'll get malware because avast will be disabled and say "Avast doesn't work!"
The only thing that can come from this is Avast looks bad for censoring or for not doing it's job (since it can't work while it's disabled).

Picture needing to walk down a street with broken glass but being told you have to take off your shoes (avast) to do it.  You WILL walk down the street, but wouldn't you prefer to have your shoes on when you do?

And...this is supposed to tell me what, exactly?

To show how mush Avast! has really a great skill in exploit than any other anti virus.

This is ridiculous.  If there's no malware or virus planted on the site itself, Avast has no right to be blocking this.  Has the RIAA/MPAA been pressuring antivirus companies to block sites that they don't want people going to?

Is Avast going to start blocking sites from political parties they don't like, sites in countries they don't like?  This is a very bad precedent.

Ok, it's a good AV.
But Avast don't do the right job: to let the users read without risk what they want on the internet; not to block internet !

So, How could i add an exception for piratebay in avast now ?

thank you !

No. Alwil team does not move by this kind of pressure.

avast scans, not censor.
Or the site is infected. Or it is a false positive.
Other thoughts are not only speculative, but false.

Avast! do not block the internet but prevent you from entering in the bad MALWARE site !!!! If you say he block you its because the website is spreading by MALWARE. Also the FBI arrested PirateBay for spreading malware. And its on hold of the FBI right now.

Dont trust me ? Then i did say what i have to do. So u cant say we didnt warned you.

You can disable Avast! for access to the site.

But be warned see mywot and mcafee site advisor on the 4nd page.

Even if the site it self doesn't contain malware, the site might have some malicious script and avast is very good at detecting it.

This is a global effort to pull down the popularity of thepiratebay

I know, it's all a conspiracy.

Highly unlikely. It's more likely that if Avast is the only one picking it up, then it's either a false positive or an intentional block. Tons of other site scanners out there do not flag piratebay.
