I feel like I'm repeating itself.

I'm assuming that, since the blocking of thepiratebay.org (NOT piratebay.com, Mr. Agent) should only happen if there's a specific instance of malware on the site from today, what's the malware? Or is it a false positive?

I'm suspecting a false positive, but I'm hoping someone can confirm one way or the other.

Mr. Agent- your second link says that there's no problem with the site as long as you use Adblock. Since I do that, I don't think it's material to what I'm asking.

If THAT was the reason that TPB was being blocked, it would have happened long before today. What I want to know is why it was blocked today.

http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/main-tests

Pick better antivirus!
Avast it self is already very good. You can't just pick an antivirus just based on a test.

Even if the site it self doesn't contain malware, the site might have some malicious script and avast is very good at detecting it.

Highly unlikely. It's more likely that if Avast is the only one picking it up, then it's either a false positive or an intentional block. Tons of other site scanners out there do not flag piratebay.
I suggest you read this article  http://blog.avast.com/2009/08/12/exploit-pack-as-the-way-to-infect/

Hello to all,

I'm sorry about this blocking - it is really a false positive. New vps update (it will solve this problem) will be released soon.

Best Regards

I know, it's all a conspiracy.
Nonsense... You don't know avast policy.
avast scans, can be correct or can fail (false positive / lack of detection).
Again, don't lose time with conspiracy theories or censorship.

It's a funny thing that you keep bringing up the court trials and all that bullshit about "how torrents are bad" "if you download torrents you die", you sound like my grandmother.

It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Made an account just for this

Sorry to hear I have to disable on access protection just to view the SAFE site.  I've diligently used Avast for many years, but this is unacceptable.  If this continues any further I'll probably un-install avast and move on to better alternatives.  Sorry avast, it was fun while it lasted.

Edit- just saw the post hurrah! Thanks dev member!
