Yay...Problem...

I had the linklist.cc trojan. I also had tons of Trojan Gen on my PC. Now, Avast picked up all instances of the virus and got rid of it. My homepage, which SHOULD be google.ca, was changed to "about:blank" but it is not the real about:blank page. What I do get is yet again another page like the linklist.cc crap. Only this time, it's called "Search for..."

Some help on removing this would be nice...

"linklist.cc" is a coolwebsearch page, so try this cleaner:

This problem still exists. Every night at around 2 AM EST, my homepage changes back to that "Search for..." site. Can anyone explain to me why it does that? I mean, it's not like it's much of a problem, but it can become a nuisance. Not even CWShredder kills it off completely.

YOu have to update your Windows(special the MS Java VM http://home.wanadoo.nl/jheroen/VM/msjvm3.htm ) and read the instruction on the main page: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/

If you have located the "Startpagedll" try to rename or copy it, so you are able to send the file to Avast!
