avast! 7 Program update RC1
« on: June 26, 2012, 12:01:23 PM »
Hi all,

I'm glad to announce RC1 build of an upcoming program update of avast! Free AV / Pro AV / Internet Security (version 7.0.1447).

This program update contains the following major features:
* Changes in the autosandbox module
* Improvements in Remote Assistance (support for UAC prompts etc)
* Improvements in SafeZone (protection against kernel-mode keyloggers;  Updated SafeZone Browser; clipboard sharing, etc.)
* Outlook plugin redesign
* Opera support in WebRep
* SiteCorrect module for the detection of unwanted websites
* Windows 8 compatibility updates
* Emergency Updater

Known issues:
* Outlook plugin has some limitations when working with IMAP protocol
* SNX limited on Windows 8
* Some missing translations, but major languages are translated

Download locations:
http://files.avast.com/test5beta/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/test5beta/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/test5beta/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe

It should be possible to install this version on top of your existing avast! installation (all settings should be preserved).

If you are using Outlook, please provide us your experience with avast! plugin. We've redesigned it to provide you more stable and reliable protection in Outlook.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks for your help!

Pavel

Why aren't languages in the installer listed alphabetically? It's so annoying that English is somewhere far on the right where it should be somewhere in the beginning of the list...

Also, why is avast! always displaying 3 Auto Sandbox analysis popups for the exactly same file?

- Downloaded a file that triggered Low Reputation warning.
- Selected Complete download anyway...
- When it starts, it spawns 3 popups on the right bottom side of the screen and they all contained exactly the same info. Same reason and same sandboxed file. Why? Isn't 1 enough?

I was testing in Win7 64bit using IE.

Thanks for reply.
WebRep is installed and enabled in both of my browsers, IE 9 and FF 13.0.1 but presently not indicating any votes (grey symbol). Server problem?
But even when it was green there was no "SiteCorrect".
