Very smooth update via GUI from 1426 to 1451.
No issues at all on XP SP3 Professional. :)

Well, this is something. After upgrading to 1451 via GUI all seemed fine but after awhile and a couple of reboots using my PC I began noticing slow down and hanging of programs. Then error messages previousl stated by XP users. ie> Insufficient Resources errror message. Runtime error message and finally my PC no longer would load programs on Boot up.
SO, I uninstalled 1451 and also ran Clean Utility. THen a Cleam installed of AIS 1426 via my original Execution File while disconnected to the internet.
Once 1426 was install (without Reboot) and welcome message completed all seemed back to normal. I used my PC for about an hour and then shutdown.
Came back to Reboot and found this Error message on Blue Screen:

" A problem was detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage.
IRQL_Not_Less_or_EQUAL

Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x65830845, 0x000000FF,0x00000001,0x8052D781)

I have uninstalled AIS 1426 via Safe Mode and also ran CLean Utility in safe mode.
I have even run THe Clean Utility for all AIS versions.
Something from Avast (probably a ADriver) I think but am not sure??is not removed. I really don't know. :-\

This is something I simply can't resolve and would greatly appreciate any direction from Evangelist's with XP operating sytem.

Is there a Driver or File (Remnant) that may be known to cause this problem.
At this point I am on a work computer and am feeling pretty stressed. :P

I have not and still can not boot into "NORMAL BOOT" and continue to receive Blue Screen error message ???
Please, :) any direction so as to avoid more serious measures

Same problem here - PC will eventually crash with an 'out of resources' issue.  Clean install, fully patched, of XP.

I'll wait and watch this thread for direction. As it is now, my PC is unusable.

You are given the choice to install Chrome or not at the very end of the process. It's down at the bottom of the window so I guess you didn't see it. The installation is checked off by default and you have to deselect it but the option is there.

1. Always choose custom install regardless of who's program you install.
2. Uncheck any unwanted add-ons

As pk said in other thread, this is a bug, not related to Free/Pro/IS.

Depends entirely on how tidy you keep your system. That however, doesn't amount to a hill of beans, when the bug relating to rename operations in w2k and winXP.

Most peoples computer system(s) are less tidy than their finances which is not encouraging.

If that was the only problem relating to XP we have seen on this forum.....

I'm not certain but I thought I read somewhere the temporary fix was to disable webrep.  Give that a try.
