I need help turning On avast 4 hm. version
« on: January 03, 2005, 04:58:19 PM »
???  Can someone help me out here? I just installed AVAST home version [4] and my system tells me there's no virus protection in my PC. What do I need to do?
:-\  :'( I have Win XP hm., IE, OE6, Pentium 4, 2.80 Ghz and 500+Ram. I find AVAST in my add/remove list and also in my msconfig menue but not in the taskbar. Any advise surely will be appreciated!

Try a repair of Avast.

start > contron panel > add/remove > Avast > change/remove > repair

Thanks Eddy, but it didn't work. I cannot find anywhere a place to click on the blue logo screen to register it let alone the task bar or the menu at the top of the screen. Any other suggestions? I have written them for support as well. I can right click on a file and scan it though!  :)

Until the blue ball is back where it belongs:
For the key you can start Avast (menu > programs .......).
Than in the menu, choose about.
There you can enter the key.

For the blue ball:
Give RejZor's AEC a try.

Also check Avast's log file for errors. If you see them let us know ofcourse.

:D Thank you, thank you Eddy!!! It's completed and working. I would have never guessed the suggestions you gave me. The AEC software really tied it all in together!
Whew!   :P  Glad that's over!!!  ;D Thanks again!
