Is Avast Update legitimate?
« on: July 09, 2012, 08:45:50 PM »
I was just prompted to update my Avast antivirus. I've been told that there are scammers out there who pretend to update or upgrade your antivirus, but they are, themselves, a virus. Is this update legitimate? I have automatic updates, but it states that I may want to personalize these updates.

The latest version is 7.0.1456.
You can manually invoke the update using the interface.

You should also be seeing it in the same avast! style, but you can also check the http://www.avast.com/release-history page (worth bookmarking) if you get a program update notification, you can check it out.
