Cant update

have been updating fine for a while , on manual or set downloads -  the engine & virus definitions and programe.
Had a red alert to sat last update scheduled for earlier did not complete

tried numerous times to download new engine and virus def
current1210020
begins to download vps_32-8fc-8fb.vxp
as soon as it starts to saving packages
it stops showing invalid file signature - set up terminate

update programme from current7.0.1466

same problem - saving packages brings abt  - invalid file signature#

The infrastructure guys are investigating the problem... will be fixed as soon as possible.

Problem with new avast! update.

Also, what does "CALL VLK" mean?

If you are using the regular release version 7.0.1466, and the repair failed - 'Error processing packages. Please use full update.' - then this worked for me:

Then you will need to do a Manual update of VPS - avast! Virus Definitions Update - Manual Download VPS Update (virus definitions, vpsupd.exe, approx 67.5 MB). - Save the file to your hard disk, locate where you saved it and double click it and that should carry out the virus definitions update.

Yes try what was suggested in the post above yours or if you don't want to get into that, wait until tomorrow when it should be resolved.

I take it that you didn't try the full manual download of the virus definitions as outlined in my Reply #5 above ?

Are you using the beta ?

It didn't work on my XP Pro system with the beta installed, but was fine on my win7 netbook with 7.0.1466.

ya i got the same thing for the repair, maybe if we post the log it will help? so here is my log of the failed repair :) i hope it helps you guys to fix  it soon
