How to remove Optimizer Pro.

I am rather frustrated with this Malware that is slowing down and generally playing havoc with my computer. How do I remove /uninstall it ? My Vista (Programs and Features) Uninstall says that I cannot uninstall Optimizer Pro as it doesnt exist. Yet the name Optimizer Pro is listed there, and I get pop ups urging me to register Optimizer Pro. I need a solution quick. Hello Avast..surely you have encountered this before ??
