How to remove Avast Anti-Theft on Android after factory reset?
« on: December 12, 2012, 05:43:47 PM »
Hello.

I want to sell my old phone and in order to remove everything from it I did a factory reset.
But after I've changed the SIM card, I got a notification on my other phone number that the SIM is changed, so the Anti-Theft is functional.

How to remove it from my old phone after the Factory reset? Please help.

Thank you.
Regards

Android forum section here.  http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=37.0

See anti theft section on top in that forum section.  ;)

- Disable avast! Anti-theft as a device admin:
- Open 'Settings' from All Apps screen in your Android phone.
- Select the option 'Applications', then 'Manage Applications'.
- Select the option with disguise-name (custom application name) you chose for avast! Anti-Theft during the installation process.
- On the next screen 'Uninstall' and then 'OK' to confirm uninstallation of disguised avast! Anti-Theft.

Thank you for your reply, but I can't see the disguise-name either. I used to, even with the app2sd application. I even installed the application again, just to find it, but I can't. Is there another way?

Which is your ROM?
Is the device rooted?

easiest way is to install avast! Mobile Security and use Settings -> Anti-Theft removal wizard to uninstall Anti-Theft.
