IE 10 for Windows 7 and Avast 7/8
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:44:10 PM »
Hey guys! As you may have all know by now that IE 10 for Windows 7 is available for download from Microsoft website or you can wait for it to be pushed via Microsoft Update in the coming weeks.

Will avast! 7/8 WebRep be compatible with IE 10 if I download now? Will it be also compatible with avast! 8 WebRep?

I believe there are already a few topics about this in relation to the avast8 beta/RC builds and people who had the IE10 preview version and some compatibility issues with the webrep and IE10.

There won't be many who have IE10, which has just been released today and avast 8 RC2.

EDIT: See, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=115499.msg901769#msg901769.

Just now I installed IE10 everything works fine. Just under the manage Add-Ons tab I can see 4 Avast WebRep ( 2 of 32-bit) and (2 of 64-bit). I don't get that? Architecture of IE10 is 64bit. Why does it have four. If i disable one of the architecture of WebRep everything goes disabled and same thing for enabling them!

Is this a concern or not? Is it a bug of IE10 or avast!

Does the beta and RC2 of avast! 8 are aware of this? Will it get fixed in the final version of avast! 8 tomorrow?

Is IE10 final version known as "Release Preview?

Is release Preview not the final version?

According to wikipedia it says this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer_10. In wikipedia it says this IE10 Release Preview version is 10.0.9200.16438 got released 13 November 2012. IE10 10.0.9200.16521 got released 26/02/2013

My IE 10 version is 10.0.9200.16521. I updated my IE from IE9 to IE10 just yesturday 27/02/2013. I updated from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36806&WT.mc_id

I just got word and confirmation regarding from my above comment? I do have a forum account from Microsoft answers. So I went there to ask them regarding IE10 and why we are getting the Release Preview instead we installed the RTM version.. One of the guys told me it's just a landing page and to disregrad it.
