Boot time scan
« on: June 09, 2013, 03:17:15 PM »
I installed Avast Free and during the boot time scan quite a few infected files were sent to  Chest.
There after, when I restarted my computer (Windows XP), it refused to boot. It stood still with the USER icon. Previously, after clicking this icon, the computer used to boot. Could be, I had sent a few important files to Chest which I should have IGNORED!
What do I do now to restore the system?

Boot in safe mode by tapping F8 several times upon boot up. Once there do a system restore. A boot scan is ONLY to be used when your system is heavily infected.
