Malwarebytes 2 Alpha Sneek Peek...
« on: December 21, 2013, 04:42:18 PM »
Just so you guys know, Malwarebytes 2 is now in Alpha. I am not allowed to provide the download link nor ID details. The public BETA will be out later.

Tip : Malwarebytes 2.0 license will be annual from now... Malwarebytes will continue to honor existing lifetime licenses, meaning any users that already have a lifetime license for 1.x will continue to have a lifetime license for 2.x. On top of all of that, new subscription licenses will be valid for 3 PCs, not just 1.

That's all I can reveal for now.

Looks interesting, thanks for the info.

I have MBAM Pro but don't have it activated as I am still unsure whether the MBAM scanner can be run with Avast!.  :(

Eh, wut? Malwarebytes Pro works alongside avast!. You can have them both enabled realtime. The vast majority of users on this forum use the combination. You need to remember that Malwarebytes isn't an anti-virus..

Thank you. I will re-enable it.

Yes I do realize the difference,  it was just a niggle at the back of my mind that I had read somewhere about the real time scanners conflicting.

Don't forget the exclusions. Exclude malwarebytes from avast and vice versa.

So removers/Virus tester/Website Testers can't get the Alpha yet?

I don't think you were supposed to even advertise the alpha build outside of the Malwarebytes closed beta section, when Marcin said not to distribute this build I think that also meant not to advertise it anywhere.

Some people just find it impossible to keep there mouths shut ::)

I don't see anything wrong with what was posted. It's just saying that 2.0 is somewhere on the horizon. No leaked build is provided.

I notice the version says 'Premium'  ???
Wonder if that's different from Pro; an added version like with Avast??

It's been advertised outside of the closed beta section complete with screenshots " that's what's wrong with it"

Cat's out of the bag now so I can tell you that Premium is Pro but subscriptions will be yearly shortly after the release of the 2.0 version.
