Deleting "Online Security avast!" is it more risky on the web ?
« on: February 11, 2014, 02:38:21 PM »
Hello

I'm using Avast 2014 in Windows XP Home.
I deleted "Online Security avast!" with the Windows's fonction Add-remove program : I have clicked on Avast and then click on "Change" and I unchecked the "Browser Protection" box.

Question for specialists of Avast : Is it more risky on the web for my computer by removing this function ("Browser Protection") or I have to reinstall ?

I'm waiting your answer for knowing if I leave the state or if I put this option.

Thanks in advance  ;)

It's fine to not use AOS - browser protection as the Web Shield is still protecting you, I also don't use it as it corrupts some of my page functionality.

+1  I don't even have it installed. AOS has been nothing less than a PITA from to beginning.  :)
