Multiple Installations ?
« on: July 15, 2005, 09:22:23 AM »
Hello,

I have installed Avast home 4.6. successfully.

I want to install the same version of Avast on another machine at the same level win/xp sp2.

Questions:

1) Is there a probleme to have Avast on 2 machines (same Avast key) with one only internet connection at time (modem connected to a machine at time)  ?

2) Is there a probleme to have Avast on 2 machines (same Avast key) connected to internet at the same time througth a router or a network?

Thanks

If both of these machines qualify for the Home Edition (home, non-commercial use), AND they are physically located in the same household, then YES, you can use the same serial number on both of them.

Thanks

Hi

I am a newly registered user to "Avast 4.x Home/Pro" & have a questions which I feel maybe answered through this thread.

In our household we run three networked computers (2 XP(SP2) & 1 Win98se) all three PC's satisfy the non-use for financial gain or business criteria to allow free use.

How do I best implement the use of Avast with this setup?

1. Load Avast on all three machines (Using one common key) or
2. Run Avast on PC with INTERNET connection share implemented in some sort of network capacity.

Please advise.

Option 1 is your only choice, install avast on each PC using the same registration key on all.

avast! home/pro is not a network server AV, for that you would need the server version of avast! and that is not free for non-commercial use.
