SHUDDERLTD
« on: October 02, 2005, 06:06:32 AM »
 Hi!!!

I want to delete the following entry in the registry but REGEDIT can't. I tried it in safe mode but it says no = "Error while deleting entry" .

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ShudderLTD

I tried RegCleaner, but it doesn't do it either. This entry belongs to PSGUARD.

Any ideas how to remove it???

Thanks,

MAB ???

Can you try this Google search?
http://www.google.com.br/search?hl=pt-BR&lr=&q=PSGUARD&as_q=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE%5CSOFTWARE%5CShudderLTD

Is there any subkey there? I mean, inside of the key there are values and subkeys, if you delete them one by one, will you be able to get rid of them?

Maybe this helps too: http://labs.paretologic.com/spyware.aspx?remove=PSGuard
And the automatic removal (http://paretologic.com/XoftSpy415_120.exe)

 Hi Tech:

 Thanks first of all.

I'd already tried the "permission" but still RegEdit won't do it. Same massage.

On the first link you pointed out I just found the first {....} but after that, no more similar entries.

The other two links the software found something but of course it wants around $40.

I can't get inside the last link of the subdirectory ShudderLTD (license) cause RegEdit comes with a message of: Can't open: Error while openning key.

This one is a tuffy one, I can tell.

Any ideas?

MAB ??? ::) :P :-[

If I were you, I'll try to do the same but with RegistrarLite, a stronger Registry tool.

Tech, if you remember in the thread where you had a problem with what you thought might be a rootkit? http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=16648.msg141359#msg141359 and I found a program that I hoped would help but didn't.

Well that same program has as one of the things it supposedly removes is shudder ltd 'smitREM.exe' http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=16648.msg141426#msg141426 this program may well be the resolution of MABE's problem.

@ MABE
Before you contemplate using this program check out the site and any accompanying documentation.

Sorry for delay Guys!!! Hi Tech!!!

I found that program "smitRem" too, I do not remeber how or from where now. I go in Super Kiling Mode with these "&$*@^&*".  And it did it. GONE! I went to Safe mode run it and it did the rest. It uses the MS cleanup, that I know.

Case closed once again, until next time of course.

Thanks.

Best Regard,
