Not too surprising given what some of the 'tools' do, this would be a classic PUP detection category, which I'm surprised it wasn't classified as that.

MSConfig a treasure trove of System Utilities.
You can reach MSConfig in several ways:
The easiest way is to use the Shortcut method: Use the Windows Key and the R key
then type in msconfig in the window that opens:

When msconfig opens, select the Tools tab:

If you're using windows 8 / 8.1, you can even pin it to the task bar:
Use the windows and the S key
type msconfig into the search box then right click on System Configuration
and select Pin to Taskbar.

Once this is done, all of these tools are just a click away.

The New “Australis” UI of Mozilla Firefox Web Browser
It took Firefox quite a while to become something I've used
for a long time - "Chrome". Hard to tell them apart.

It has taken years to get my firefox UI the way I like it (which I feel is minimalist, but with functionality/accessibility), as has been said in VGs link, if I wanted chrome I would have installed it :P

Hopefully the boast of easy customisation of the UI (or revert to current) will mean that I will be able to get it back to what has taken a long time to achieve.

Thanks for that I suspect that many others will be very grateful for that in the near future, I have bookmarked them.

R. I. P. Winamp

AOL will be shutting down Winamp as of 12/20/2013
If you still want to download the latest version of the program, better do it soon.
Download Winamp

R. I. P. Winamp
Have used in the very early beginning... It was surpassed by a lot of other (better) media players.

Hi Tech!

Maybe in your mind, but for me it is still the best music player. Sad news for Winamp users, i've used Winamp since 1997 when it first appeared on the scene and made all other music players obsolete back then and it's difficult for me to imagine using anything else, even bought the Pro version years ago to support the development of the program.

The android version is very good as well, altough i am perfectly content with Apollo which is the default music player in CyanogenMod ROM's.

So i am good on my android devices but what would you guys suggest for my desktop ? I tried quite a few players in the past and Foobar2000 was something that i quite liked and used for a brief period but i am curious as to what you guys are using for your music needs ?

For music I use good old Windows Media Player because the sound effects and adjustments are the best. I sometimes will use Media Player Classic Home Cinema too. I tried VLC and just didn't like it at all for anything.

I also dislike VLC(the UI) and i am already using MPC-HC, well actually the MPC-BE fork. But i use that for video only. WMP ? Good suggestion actually, it's not a bad player at all. Plus the Lyrics plugin that i have been using for Winamp appears to be compatible with WMP. Syncing with my android phone appears to be working fine as well. Perhaps i will make the switch to WMP. Need to try it out for a few days first. Thanks for your suggestions.

My first encounter with DeepScan since installing avast! 2014 RC1
The analysis took about 2 seconds and the program was found to be safe.
(I new that. :) )

I've encountered this DeepScan and it shows for 15 seconds but only if I run a program that I've made, I don't make virus apps. I tried to turn most things off in Programs and Features but it still shows, how can is disable this annoying feature please?

SandBox used to do the same but you can turn that off easily.

I've found how to turn DeepScan which is called DeepScreen. Open Avast click on Settings then on Virus and remove the tick in DeepScreen.

I had to watch a video on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hac2kHPxiC0

Check or rather uncheck the DeepScreen option - avastUI > Settings > Antivirus > DeepScreen.

Part of the problem is that when running programs you have made, they won't have much Reputation as it won't have been seen regularly in the wild/other avast users systems, etc. etc. So I don't know if you might just want to try disabling the Reputation Services (same screen).
