Hi Guys,

I'm trying to download IE7 from the microsoft website:

and a warning comes up from Avast! saying Malware Zulu warning. Virus found. Abort Connection.
Is anybosy else getting this?

Many thanks.

Anyway, I think the user is right... Why don't Alwil correct this false positive?  :(

Of course, I did not say the user is wrong.

And I also hope avast-team will fix this soon

Sorry, I've misunderstood you in a way...
But I was just adding a comment and so I've written anyway... I don't say you're wrong, just anyway.
Well, just a matter of words and words  ;) 8)

Well, the OP had a legitimate question...

And when is soon, this was first posted 2 and a half weeks ago?

Soon has already passed.  ;)

I have the same problem. I don't know why, seeing as Microsoft would get sued bigtime if they started handing out viruses...By the way I use Opera 9.02 if that helps Avast! I saw someone used it on another forum.

Well, this thread is from January this year, just tried it, still works:

This is on Avast' own forum. So 10 months is the longest time I have seen.  ;) .

But this Zulu-warning is worse because more people get confused about the warning.  :(

The false positive was removed in the latest vps update (0642-4).
We are sorry for the inconvenience - the virus guys said it was quite tough to remove the FP as Zulu is some kind of polymorphic virus and the detection algorithm was quite complex.

Cheers
