Translating avast!

I would like to translate avast! to European Portuguese but I don't know how!

You did the right thing... posting here.
You can ask Igor for further help on translation.
I suppose Igor could give you my Portuguese (Brazilian) translation in order to you to get the Portugal version.
Also, you could check this thread: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=8525.msg69841#msg69841

But a lot of Portugal guys are trying to do... but, after all, not a version is finished...
