Outlook 2003 Crash
« on: January 11, 2007, 01:19:44 PM »
I have had a problem with OL2003 crashing since installing Avast.  When it comes back up the reading pane is off.  Since I have left that off I have not had another crash.  I do not have MSN Search installed.  How can I have my reading pane back?

I'm not sure they're related. But crashing could be managed right now...

That only seems to tell me that it is being worked on.  What can be done with it to solve the problem now?  Related or not, I have had no problems since turning off the reading pane.

Hi All

i had the like issue, with SpamFIghter, and AVAST antivirus,
but i isolatet the issue
to  when i installed and updated Internet Explorer (that the one program, displaying the previewpane)

end in Internet Explorer we got some extra tools Phising filter, automatic, try to disable it,

and im sure You Avats and Spamfighter will work perfect again.

Hi slink,

If you use your Outlook 2003 or Office 2003 original CD and choose on installation REPAIR not uninstall it should solve your problem.

Let us know.

I get a similar problem with Play Sound setting when email arrives in Outlook 2003 which most often does not play.  Maybe, it is related to avasts scanning of the incoming mail? What do you think Tech?

Also running Comodo latest firewall release.

Thanks.

The preview pane could use other protocol (maybe http) than the pop3/smtp and then to view the contents of the email, avast WebShield could be interfering... I'm not sure if I'm talking non sense here. Just guessing.

Slink, are you using MSN Toolbar?
