Comodo liability... and Alwil opinion.
« on: August 14, 2007, 03:46:23 AM »
Vlk, you've closed this thread: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=29792.msg246211#msg246211
Can I ask your opinion (or Alwil opinion) about all that mess?
It's a very good opinion to take in account. Thanks.

P.S. I'm not intending to start a new bloatware topic, just to know and learn something.
Is Comodo firewall a trustable application in your opinion?

I would say that Alwil wouldn't offer a position one way or another and I wouldn't expect them to. Especially since they are developing their own firewall so that could be a conflict of interest not to mention commercial interest.

Hi forum members,

This thread is like the so-called wonder sponge, it lasts and lasts. And it does not bring anything new.

Comodo works so a small number of people wanted to attack them without any proof.  Will the same attack Avast next?  Maybe just better to show our support of good software like CPF as strong as we do Avast.  When I suggest Avast free to people they ask just how good is it if it's free.  They have to just try for themselves to realize that some very good things really are free.

I'm the one who started the fear-frost thread about Comodo Crucified when I first saw it on the wilders forum because of a surprise. It did make some sense but then I realized some users were saying the same with ZAP and as the days where going there were no sound proofs. It's as silly as saying your cable company spies on you by sending "packets" to the control center to know what channels and at what time and for how long you're looking at them, for marketing or I don't know what. This is sick (menntally sick people), could be in old USSR but not in good old America, even for dollars. So may be I reacted too fast and I still have CFP on my PC and never had the idea of changing it. Enjoy summer all of you :).

Why Comodo company is untrustworthy?

http://forums.comodo.com/comodo_boclean_antimalware/ikarus_antivirus_detected_boclean_424_trojanspywin32agentca-t11137.0.html

http://forums.comodo.com/comodo_boclean_antimalware/false_positive_from_symantec-t11174.0.html;msg79238

No comodo officials answer, but CBOC is altered (4.25)
Here we go again...... :'( >:( :'(
False Positives don't make the product bad. Blame the company that detects the false positive not Comodo.
Get your facts straight. This doesn't prove anything except that Symantec  etc. incorrectly detected bo-clean as malware.

4 security products find this, sounds too much for me to be a false positive.

And how to happen always with comodo product? (must be global conspiracy again  LOL)

Because that's what you are searching for.....
Search for another program and you'll also find false positives. Even avast! has them.

You might have had more of a case if they'd all found the same thing.  ::)
