I have been surprised at the English speakers who are fooled by anything named Placebo.    ;)

I think part of the problem is people don't read what they read. The first paragragh in the quote in polonus' post should tell you that this program is exactly what it's name implies.

There is enough toungue in cheek comment in the rest of the quote to make you smile.

Hi oldman,

This proofs that humans are basically primates and the basic quality of primates is to copy others, they "ape" so to say, and then they forget to read, as others have put it "sheople" mentality.
That is why I say, "Thanks a bunch for your explanation", and again PlaceboAV not for me,

Hi!

Important to say that this is not a rough program, because it does exactly what it promises
and it does nothing that it not promises.  And the promise is: Nothing at all. Clearly stated.

I had no sideeffects when it was installed, and it continued to do exactly what it promised
after I uninstalled it too.

Conclusion: Avast does the job alone. :)  PlaceboAV uninstalled.

CharleyO;
The word Placebo is a well-known word in the Norwegian language too, not any longer reserved
for scientists.

Just to finish with words: "placebo" is an international medical term, well-known for those who studied properly biology at school.  :) And read books, too.
May the FOSS be with you!

A famous leader's response:

What he was trying to say:
Quote
Fool me once,  shame on you
Fool me twice, shame on me
