First bluescreen  :o - might have occurred when it was updating from 462 - 507 while I had my browser open and using the interenet.

I was unaware update was happening at the time

Do I send the mini dumps to verify and where to?

Should be fixed now. Sorry for the inconvenience (issue only affected people who were upgrading from the BETA).

Thanks

How do you disable self-defense?  I just installed the new 507 build on XP and didn't do any customizing.  When I uncheck enable self-defense and close and reopen it is always checked again.

Nevermind.  I restarted the computer and now I can do it.  I was just testing it to see if I might want to run it as an on-demand only program.  But it does seem to work very well with everything running.

that's not good... this is the behavior you get normally in safe mode only, because services aren't started, so settings can't be changed. Are you sure that your shields are running? Is any other change in the settings taken into account, ie retained?

I cant update from 504 to 507 either, It says package broken and ive tried a repair and tried again but still no luck.

I'm in the same boat.  Windows 7 x64, AIS 5.0.504 and virus definition or 100413-1.  Both virus definition and program update shows "package is broken" when updating.  I've repaired, but to no avail.

Just tried again - this time it worked.

Upgraded with no problems at all, was prompted to download the latest version earlier which installed successfully on mp Windows XP SP3.

Thanks to Avast for all the effort you put into such a fantastic free product.
