Avast 4.8 pro upgrade to Avast 5 or 6 pro?

Is there a file or option somewhere that will let you upgrade from Avast 4.8 pro to Avast 5 pro or Avast 6 pro - for free?  Or must I repurchase the license for each new version that comes out?

I've tried searching for something relating to this and thought I'd try here before I
gave up.

No need to purchase license again. http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php (will work for both v5 and v6)
