avast! 7 and Nvidea GeForce GT 335M
« on: February 28, 2012, 04:56:50 PM »
Hey guys. I just upgraded to avast! 7 and my Nvidea switchable graphics no longer work on my laptop. They say that I would need to quit avastui.exe but there is no way of just quitting avast that I am aware of. Short of ditching avast is there anything that I can do to work around this (rather than disable my self defense module and manually kill the process every time I want to switch graphics)? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum,
Please give us a bit more information.
What OS, which version of avast!7 is installed, what is the error message or notice that you're receiving.
Screenshot always helps if possible.

Hey, I'm using Windows 7 x64, avast! engine 7.0.1407, and the problem lies with nvidea not being able to switch to it's graphics card, I would suppose as a result of it being unable to allocate the graphical usage of avastui.exe to the card from my integrated intel graphics.

Here's what it looks like :

You can always reinstall Avast! o reinstall Nvidia drivers. Better yet contact Avast! reporting a technical issue.

See if they can replicate the problem.
