The package is broken!

avast 7.0.1426
defs: 120318-1
Today when the computer booted I got an error message from avast saying "The package is broken" and no update is done. I've tried severaL times to update manually but no go. Never had any probs with avast befor. Any ideas? thanks

Current VPS 120319-0.

Reboot, if that doesn't resolve it - Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair.
