Win 32 trojan-gen detection at iTunes version 10.6.0.40
« on: March 23, 2012, 06:28:12 PM »
An upstart scan detected win 32 trojan-gen.
Operating system: Windows Vista 32 bits.
Avast Free Antivirus version 7.0.1426.
Virus definition 1203.23-1.
I was unable to repair, remove or delete the win 32 trojan-gen.
I assume that this is a positive-false alarm, not sure about it!

Comments, suggestions, advice is highly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Best regards, Hermie

upload suspicious file(s) to www.virustotal.com and test with 40+ malware scanners
when you have the result, copy the URL in your addressbar and post it here for us to see

Having the same issue.  It's gotta be a false positive.

I also have the same problem, but for me it shows the trojan report within the ItunesSetup.exe file that you download from the Apple site. The upshot of it is that if you want to install or repair Itunes, Avasti tags it and will not allow the setup file to continue.

What shall we do on this??

Avast did not give me access to the file to remove, delete or what so ever.
Since I did not get access to the file, I was unable to test the file at virustotal.
I have uninstalled iTunes and installed a new version of it.
Then I have run a Avast start-up scan, which did not find any virus.
I assume it was a false alarm.
