Well, it will probably be done, if needed.  Mac is probably going to get some attention by developers because they are finally getting chewed on by a couple of parasites, and as long as Apple's "star continues to rise", there will be more needed there.  Whereas I would say Linux is in about the same threat level it was last year....and the year before that, etc..

Also I suspect Linux remains a harder target for malware writers because its user base is more likely to be either corporate (and better hardened), or older and inherently more 'staid' (installing only from the approved repositories of their chosen distro, and updating daily). Only a hunch I get from the linux forums - could be entirely off mark. Fits my user profile though.

(and I don't know of a distro that currently has avast within its repository)
