Avast! 4.8 Error
« on: June 01, 2012, 06:18:35 PM »
Running Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS atm.

Cannot update to latest vps.  Old is 20120527-0.

Get "Downloaded update is corrupted, try again" error box.  Have tried several times, no dice.

EDIT:  Old vps is 120527-0.  Using sysctl -w kernel.shmmax=100000000 command in using sudo in terminal to enable vps activation.  Have to run every time system is shut down or rebooted.

At the same thread you've read that command, there is an instruction to configure it automatically each boot.

@ Tech,

Thank you for your answer.

As it turns out, the vps offered later in the day, 120601-1, installed without error.

Did get a new error box today, see attached below.  What is that, and why does it happen?  Error occurred only on user account, not on superuser.  After the lock file was deleted, vps went in.

I am going to not put in the command for automatic configuration atm, but will later.
