« on: June 20, 2012, 04:45:30 PM »
I have WinPatrol installed. Is there any problem in installing ThreatFire with WinPatrol? and which is better?

Well, one is a behavior analysis tool (TF) and the other is a very light HIPS.
Behavior tools had to have more "inteligence" behind them. But TF is no longer being active developed.
If you want a second layer, I'll go for WinPatrol nowadays. Be prepared to be asked for some questions that only advanced users will know how to answer...

Threatfires development has been ceased for a while now so i cant see a point in using outdated software and WinPatrol is a excellent program, very light on the system and great at monitoring everything on your system.

Here is the update history -> -http://www.threatfire.com/updates/
Scroll to the bottom to see the last update. Version 4.7 on November 25, 2009.

One of my favorite programs is WinPatrol +. It takes a snapshot of your system and alerts you if anything changes.
If there are any changes to your startup, services, BHO, activeX, etc. WinPatrol asks what to do.

Here are the differences between WinPatrol free and WinPatrol plus. -> -http://www.winpatrol.com/whyplus.html

Hi Speedy PC.
Thanks for the info,
Ive always liked WinPatrol and its very light,
Just thought it might slow down the computer a bit if installed with OA and avast.
Thanks again. ;D

If you dig a little deeper you see that the topic was probably made in 2009.
