Title: Istart entfernen
Post by: Sepp-H. on March 16, 2015, 09:10:25 PM
Hallo,

Ok, these are the logs. (I removed the previously used version of AdwCleaner before downloading and running it again)

What problems should I look for exactly? The computer is still running  ;), or should I start another MBAM scan?

Thanks,

Sepp

I run MBAM again. The log is attached. It put another File into quarantine, it´s in the screenshot. As far as I can see istart is gone. I can´t find it as startpage of the browser nor in the search engines of the browser. Should I look somewhere else? If not, what should I do with the objects in MBAM quarantine and should I do these checks also for the administrator account (everything I did was carried out in the user account)?

Thanks,

Sepp

No need to run it again as my tools had access to the admin account.  Any further problems ?

AdwCleaner has another finding (see attachment). I didn´t delete it. Do I have to worry about this? Apart from this everything seems to be ok.

If it is by itself then it is not a problem as it is a windows setting that can be abused

Subject to no further problems   :)

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so..The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset  System Restore points:

Remove tools

Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php).

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Unchecky (http://unchecky.com/)

Click on the link above to be taken to Unchecky.com
click the very large Download button.
click Save
Click Open folder
Right click on the Unchecky_setup and choose to Run as Administrator

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

Thank you for your help, Essexboy  :D

I will do the cleanup tomorrow. But one more thing, which I forgot to mention: I had some objects in the Avast quarantine which appeared together with this Istart-issue. I deleted the quarantine. Is this ok?
