Can Avast Free be used on Windows 2000 and Windows 98?
If not, are there other AVs that will work?
-
Avast no but you can use ClamAV
And you need to add Clam sentinel for realtime protection
-
Thank you for the information.

I believe that is ClamWin (http://www.clamwin.com/) and Clam Sentinel (http://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/). ;)

A old version of avast will work on W2K.
Latest one that works is iirc version 8.
Update the 98 system to at least XP and you can use the latest avast version.
