Title: installing application in the teeth of Avast
Post by: jonarding on September 19, 2015, 09:25:50 PM
I have Avast Internet Security.  I previously had it configured to scan for PUPs.  It detected what I assumed was a PUP which had attached itself to one of my applications but in fact it was the application itself that Avast thought I ought not to want, and it removed it.  I cannot now reinstall it.  Every time Avast says it has detected non-Malware and wipes out the .exe file.

I have disabled scanning for non-Malware, and I have disabled Avast entirely, but even though disabled it still kills the application.

Is there an option other than ditching Avast?

non-Malware Detected.  Avast has blocked a potentially unwanted program.
