Hello,
Is there any way to manually update the database ? I have a VERY bad dial-up connection at home, so I'd like to download updates at work and install them at home.
Thanks.

Thank you, Pavel, I'll check it out.

My dad has a 14 kbs modem and he still gets the updates within a minute

I'm on a 56 dial-up (typical connection is 48), but the update is so smooth I'd think it should work neatly no matter how slow your connection.
I auto-update the database, and usually it's so unobtrusive that the first I'm aware of it is that pop-up advisory note afterwards.
Best,
Mike

Yep - the files VPSUPD*.EXE are definitely not incremental :D. They are really only for those who have no net access...

Thank you guys, I appreciate very much your feedback.
You see, my problem is not the modem, but my ISP: often I can't even *connect* to get the updates.
Have a nice day!

I would like to THANK Alwil Software for making manual update of the virus database possible for PCs with no Internet connection. :)
I would also like to THANK Pavel for his help. This enabled me to update the virus database of my 2nd PC, which has no network connection of any kind. I DELIBERATELY made my 2nd PC a standalone computer, without any network connection of any kind, for security and other reasons. ;)
