Title: Exclusion List is not Excluding
Post by: chris.hsmall on November 22, 2019, 08:37:56 AM
Hi I need help on my Avast Setup. I have an app written in .Net that executes JS Scripts. Whenever I let the app execute a JScript (not via the run command / via the activeX) Avast scan and monitors the execution, but this slows the script down (50 record per second to 10 rps). So I have excluded the app's folder in the general exclusions, I have configured both the behaviour and file shield to exclude the folder and app. I even started to change basic settings on the file shield to not scan executing programs, scripts etc. But each time it does, and each time I need to switch the file shield off.

Any advice that I can try? There is not much more that I can switch off from the components or general setup.

Thank you

Hi, this isn't really helpful. Like I mentioned I have exclude both the folder and app in the general Exception list, as well as individual components. You can access these components on Avast start up ,left bottom -> settings. But it does not exclude the app, whenever I run it. I have narrowed it down to the File Shield.

Strange, wait for one of the devs and/or submit a ticket: https://support.avast.com/contact (paid versions)

Edit: Did you reboot after setting the exclusions..?

Hi, thanks I will. I think it is the fact that the exe runs a script using the old script control. I am sure this triggers some "illegal" action in Avast. But thank you, I will log a ticket.

Thank you for reporting the issue.

Could you please help us with investigation by providing some data?
Please enable debug logging (Menu > Settings > General > Troubleshooting > Enable debug logging).

Reproduce the issue (run the app while it is in the exception list).

Create a support package (https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/Submit-support-file) and post the ID here.

Thank you very much,
Jakub
