Title: Outlook with IMAP Avast configuration
Post by: miguelsantos on August 29, 2006, 12:32:40 AM
I use Outlook 2003 accessing IMAP servers (not Exchange). I have both providers installed (Internet Mail / Outlook). I am trying to improve performance of Avast in general, so I wanted to know if I can switch off one of them, and of course, wich one and why. I suspect it may be scanning mails twice.

Thanks in advance, Miguel.

No, your mail are not being scanned twice.
The Outlook plugin does not scan the pop3/smtp email clients (like OE, Thunderbird, IncrediMail, etc.).
You can make the contrary... but you won't improve performance, on contrary, the pluggin works better with Outlook (full)  ;)
