Title: Help Cid popups
Post by: pablohj on June 09, 2007, 05:01:29 PM
I have CID popups and I can't get rid off them. The avast! antivirus and spybot cannot detect it. What can I do?

Add or Remove Programs entry for the downloader and installer for Adware-Lop is called CID Help and/or CID Manager. This targets browser behavior and displays advertisements ... basically, an adware program. Adware.Lop might also add its own toolbar and search button to Internet Explorer. Also, if you have Windows Messenger (not the IM program) running, these pop-up ads may be coming to you that way. Windows Messenger should never be active on any personally used computer as it was intended to be used by IT personnel for communicating with computers on a network ... ie - updates, internal commands, etc.

Have you recently installed some new software? This malware program is often bundled with other software and installed that way. Please read the below link for instructions of removal ... especially paragraph #4.

Good luck with this removal of a malicious adware program.
