Title: McAfee trial version
Post by: JimmieC on October 04, 2007, 04:17:08 PM
I am running Vista with the trial version of McAfee installed.  I would like to un-install this (McAfee) and install the home version of Avast.  I am curious about the transitioning stage and if my computer is vulnerable after un-installing McAfee, before the Avast program is installed.  Any clearification in this matter would be helpful.  Thanks, Jim.

Download any program you may need. Mcafee removal tool and latest avast program. If you have an always on connection you may want to disconnect your modem. You should have no problem.

As oldman says, you should prepare (download) all tools, etc. that you may need before you uninstall your existing protection.

For the McAfee uninstall tool that you could run to ensure any possible remnants are removed.
