Title: Won't install on Win2000
Post by: code911 on March 23, 2004, 02:52:20 PM
Anyone been able to get avast to install on a win2000 machine?  When I try to install I get a msg saying the OS does not meet minimum standards...need at least NT4 with service pack 4.  I'm running w2000 server with SP4.  Thanks in advance

Avast Home/PRO is for client systems only - it won't install on servers by design.

You need avast! server edition for server.

If the Windows 2000 the person has is Windows 2000 Pro, then it's a client Windows version.

Windows 2000 don't always mean Windows 2000 Server.

In this case, it does - I guess.
