Title: database update from a local server
Post by: angelochen960 on August 17, 2008, 02:41:55 PM
Hi,

I'm using the avast home edition with my three computers, it works well. now, i have this need: my other two PCs are not allowed to access the internet, only one is allowed, so only one pc got updated, is there a way that I can configure the other two pcs to pick up the database update from my internet allowed PC? thanks,

Angelo

Angelo,

You could download the VPS update .exe file from http://www.avast.com/eng/update_avast_4_vps.html, copy it to each of the computers and then run it. You will find that this file will be larger than the normal on line update, because the online update is incremental.

Hope this helps
