I am running the free Avast Home 4.8 version. Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off or disable the the screen pop up notification
that comes up everytime Avast updates the virus database? I've looked at all of the settings and there doesn't seem to be anything that covers that setting.
Thanks,

Program Settings - Update (Basic) - Details
Uncheck the setting "Show sliding box after automatic update".

Thank you for the help. I think that is the only place I didn't look.

You must have seen it before, as this option is disabled by default ;D

I installed avast a few hours ago, and saw the sliding window after update process. Also I checked that setting just now, it is enabled by default. ;D

I think you are talking about a different thing, e.g. the norification after an update and the original poster is talking about the display of files that avast is scanning, which is most certainly off by default.

David - not too much doubt about the question I think.

But his question was "Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off or disable the screen pop up notification
