Title: Sometimes when i start up my computer
Post by: Eminem on March 16, 2009, 02:48:01 AM
Sometimes when i start up my computer the sound its supposed to make skips. I am running Windows XP SP3. Is the sound skipping a problem or do you think its my speakers? When i move my speaker wire by where it plugs in sometimes the sound shifts from one speaker to the other.

Hi, sounds awfully like a loose wire at the plug end, causing an intermittent short of some kind.
That may not be all it is, but it's where to start, given the symptoms/troubleshoot you've done, so far.

Do you think if that isn't all it is its a major problem that will effect the computer?

Who knows... avast does not make sounds except the ones set into its settings...
Did you run a full scan?
Does it happen all the times you boot?

It just happens sometimes.

This used to happen all the time a while back.  It's because the computers were to slow to start windows and play the sound at the same time.

Reduce the amount of startup entries to see if it helps, or maybe consider doing some hardware upgrades...
